The copyright and neighboring right protection proclamation 410/2004 was amended in 2014 after the right holders and other concerned bodies pushed the government to amend the act. The main reason for the need to amend the proclamation is to establish a suitable legal system for the growing movement of copyright protection and to create a situation where copyright holders can manage their rights in an organized and consolidated manner.
This amendment proclamation is known as "Copyright Protection Amendment proclamation No. 872/2007". The amendment of the proclamation mainly includes issues related to the establishment of collective management society, the obligation of third parties to pay royalties for right holders and the methods for collection and distribution of royalties.
